PBT fiber is the abbreviation of polybutyleneterephthalatefibre, which is a kind of polyester fiber prepared by melt spinning by polycondensation of high-purity terephthalic acid (PTA) or dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) esterification with 1,4-butanediol.
Because PBT fiber has the characteristics of good elasticity, high dyeing rate and good color fastness, it also maintains the excellent properties of ordinary polyester (PET) such as crispness and good dimensional stability. As can be seen from the above table, compared with ordinary polyester fiber (PET), PBT fiber has lower strength, larger elongation at break, and the initial modulus is significantly lower than that of ordinary polyester fiber, but it has outstanding elasticity and excellent dyeability, and the feel is softer than PET.
